Thank You, Thank You Very Much.

A tremendously huge thank you to everyone that came out to audition over the past few weekends.  We had an amazing turnout of over 300 people and were consistently amazed at the talent that the central Illinois area has to offer.  We can not thank you enough for taking time out of your busy lives to audition for us, and we hope that it was a great experience for each and every one of you.

We wish that we could cast you all, but the Muni stage can only hold so many people at a time. 

We will be holding our callbacks for certain roles tomorrow (Sunday, March 13th) and adult casting will take place the evening of Monday, March 14th.  We will post our cast list (minus the munchkins who will be cast at next week's children's auditions) to this blog as soon as it is completed, so we encourage you to check here often to keep up to date.

Again, thank you all for your time and energy.  We hope that even if you are not cast in a show this season that you will come out and volunteer - there are many fun ways to be part of the Muni family.  And we also hope that you KEEP AUDITIONING!

Always reach for the moon....even if you miss, you'll still be among the stars!!

Oh...and thanks to you, we won't have to resort to casting these kids:

One Day More!

Only ONE MORE DAY to come out and audition to be a part of this year's exciting season at the Springfield Muni Opera.  Whether or not you audition for The Wizard Of Oz or one of the other fantastic shows that are currently casting, you won't want to miss this opportunity.

The last day of auditions is this Saturday at the Hoogland Center For The Arts and slots are filling up faster than we can believe.  PLEASE sign up ASAP.

Last Minute Audition Tips From A Few Friends...

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Muni  audition workshops, we hope that you had as much fun as we did!!  And now, the real fun begins!!

Muni auditions start tomorrow - so if you haven't already, sign yourself up, submit a form online and get that song together!  We are looking forward to an amazing turn out and we hope to see you there!!  If you are looking for some last minute audition advice...try the following:

Follow your dreams and reach for the stars.

Use your brain: study up on those songs.

Put your heart into it!

Have lots of cccccccooooooourage!

SMILE!!

Don't be afraid to stand out - show some attitude!

(But, be nice to everyone.  Even dogs.)

Don't doctor up your resume! 

Be honest on your audition form (expecially conflicts) and stick to it!

And most importantly....HAVE FUN! 

Muni is a family, and we can't wait for you to be part of it.

Are you getting ready yet?

Here is a downloadable version of the music selection that will be used for children's auditions.  Please feel free to print tons of copies and get them to anyone you might know who is attending kid's auditions and would like to be prepared ahead of time!  This music will also be available for pick-up at this Saturday's audition workshop!

Adults - you are on your own.  The staff does not have a specific selection they would like to hear from you, so here is your chance to show your preparation and creativity!  Best of luck!
